FL plane crash

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Clearwater fire crews are on scene of an early morning fatal plane crash that happened just after 4 a.m. Saturday.
The single engine plane went down in the middle of McMullen Booth Road north of Union Street killing the adult male on board and injuring two girls. On board were the pilot, his daughter and her friend. They took off from Chicago around 6:30 p.m Friday. It appears that both girls were teenagers.

They were taken to Saint Joseph's hospital in Tampa, one was transported as a trauma alert. Debris from the crash caused small fires in the roadway which crews extinguished. McMullen Booth Road is currently closed between Union Street and Enterprise Road.

According to FAA website the piper plane was registered to a company called Glass Man Inc. out of Illinois. FAA investigators on scene say the plane hit power lines as it crash landed.The names of the three involved have not been released at this time.

National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is also on scene trying to
determine what caused the fatal crash.
