General Motors investigation

American auto maker "General Motors" is under investigation over its handling of a deadly defect in some of it's vehicles.
"G-M" announced a recall of almost 1.4 million compact cars last month.
That's because of an ignition switch issue linked to at least 13 deaths and 31 accidents.

Documents submitted to federal safety regulators reveal the automaker was first alerted to the problem in 2004 but did not issue fixes.
Lawmakers and federal prosecutors will now look at whether or not General Motors broke any laws with its slow response.
