TRACKING THE TROPICS

On the map below, the circle over the Gulf of Mexico is for an area of low pressure heading toward Texas.  Development is not expected.  Also, we're tracking Cristobal and a tropical wave over the eastern Caribbean Sea that may become another depression though chances are low.

Colorado plane crash kills 5

5 people are dead after a plane crash in Colorado.

The plane was heading from Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Montrose, which is about 180 miles southwest of Denver.
Search and rescue teams will continue today, looking for the victims.

They haven't found any sign yet, the plane crashed in 60 to 90 feet of water.
"The nose was down a little bit but it was basically a flat spin around and around and around like a pie plate and then we saw it disappear out of sight and everybody was gasping and we just heard the noise of it going around and around and there was a big whop."

The plane is registered to an Alabama corporation, that's all we know at this point.
The cause of the crash still under investigation.
