"Sean's Outpost" cited for violations

Escambia County Commissioners have given the go-ahead for the county attorney to stop people from camping at a property on Massachusetts Avenue.

The land is owned by a non-profit organization called "Sean's Outpost" and is a common place for homeless people to stay.

In January, the Escambia environmental enforcement division cited Sean's Outpost for several violations and issued a cease and desist order.

Sean's Outpost was given time to clean up the property, but code enforcement has reported those violations still exist.

The commission voted Tuesday to allow an injunction to be filed for all tents and unpermitted structures to be removed.

The county is expected to wait until after next week's magistrate hearing on the violations before filing the injunction.
