New York City explosion kills one injures fifteen

NEW YORK CITY  -- An explosion has leveled two New York City apartment buildings, killing one person and injuring over a dozen others.

It happened around 9 am near Park Avenue and 116th Street.
One of the buildings that collapsed had a piano repair shop with apartments above.
The second building housed a church.
It's unclear if anyone was inside the buildings at the time of the explosion.
So far, one person is dead and 15 injuries three serious and 12 minor.
Hundreds of firefighters are battling the blaze.
Law enforcement sources say a gas explosion may be to blame.
