Blue Angels return home today

The Blue Angels are back home.
The United States Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron arrived at Naval Air Station Pensacola today.

The team has spent the two months at their winter base in California getting their precision flying skills back up to speed.

They have already flown two shows in California this year.
They typcially do about three dozen shows annually.

But last year the team was grounded for most of their 2013 tour because of federal spending restrictions.

The pilots say they are looking forward to the upcoming airshow season.
"As we serve around to be able to drop into America's backyards and showcase the kind of things the Navy and MArine Corp. are doing around the world is really a great mission. And we look forward to executing it in 2014."

The Blues will be flying regular practices at NAS Pensacola, starting this Wednesday at 11:30 in the morning.

WEAR is teaming up with the Pensacola International Airport to you bring live coverage of the event.
