Brent Lane accident injures 3 and causes power outage

UPDATE: A single vehicle crash Saturday night in Pensacola has claimed the life of an 18-year-old female and her baby. Schintai Eberhart, 18, of Pensacola was ejected from the vehicle. She died at a local hospital after undergoing an emergency C-section; the baby died soon after birth, said Officer Jason Browning.

The 2006 Lexus was driven by her sister, Lindsey Eberhart, 18.

The crash occurred shortly before 8pm, April 12th.

Lindsey was driving the vehicle westbound on Brent Lane from 9th ave, when she lost control and hit a curb near Evergreen rd. The car struck a power pole and flipped a couple times before stopping on its left side. The power pole broke from the impact.

Lindsey was treated for minor injuries. Her 12 yr old brother, Deven Heflin, was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

Another passenger Tristan Horne, 18, received a minor hand injury.

Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation; seat belt usage on all occupants has not yet been determined.

Initial report: Pensacola police are investigating a traffic accident that sent 3 people to the hospital and knocked out power in the Cordova Mall area.

Police say a car hit a pole on Brent Lane at Evergreen rd just before 8 at night on April 12th.

Escambia County EMS took 3 people to Sacred Heart hospital under a trauma alert.

That includes a 18 yr old pregnant woman and an 12 yr old child.

Pensacola police say the power outage affected several traffic lights along Bayou Blvd.

About 200 customers are still without power.

Gulf Power crews are working to repair all the damage.
