Ice Flyers in finals 3rd year in a row

The Pensacola Ice Flyers are heading back to the league championship series for the third straight year.

The Ice Flyers wrapped up their semifinal series by taking a 2-1 thriller from the Knoxville Ice Bears, Sunday in the Bay Center.  That secured their place in the championship series.
               
John Dunbar and Paul Rodrigues scored 1st-period goals and Ross MacKinnon was brilliant in goal, stopping 24 of the 25 shots he faced.
   
The Flyers will face the Columbus Cottonmouths. 
The best-of-three championship series begins in Pensacola, this Thursday night.
   
The series will move to Columbus, Georgia, for game 2, Saturday. 
If they need a third game,  it would be back in Pensacola, Sunday night.
  
The Ice Flyers are the defending champions.
