City Council votes to hire homelessness consultant
The Pensacola City Council will hire a consultant to tackle homelessness.
The Council voted tonight to pay homelessness consultant, Dr. Robert Marbut to help the Pensacola task force find solutions to to the city's homlessness problem.
The former White House fellow has worked on homeless issues for more than 30 years, and has helped cities across the country reduce homelessness
Last month, the city was considering paying marbut roughly 24-thousand dollars for four months of research on the issue.
No word on the final dollar amount or time length tonight.
The Council voted 6-to-2, with Charles Bare and Sherri Myers opposing and the absence of PCWU.
