HEALTH: 17th Street bridge gets painted for "National Autism Month"

PENSACOLA   --  April is National Autism Month..
And local Autism Awareness Group Autism Pensacola decided to paint the graffiti bridge to recognize it.

The bridge is on 17th Avenue
The "Autism Society" says the awareness month has been around since the 1970's.
   
The month is meant to provide an opportunity to educate people about autism.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says autism is five times more common in boys.
   
White children are more likely to be diagnosed than black or Hispanic children.

A recent study shows the number of US children with autism jumped *30-percent between 2008 and 2010.
