Good samaritans rescue injured elderly woman
In west Pensacola, an elderly woman was injured and trapped in her home.
Her neighborhood was flooded, including the first floor of her home.
Enda Faye Farrigdon was rescued from her home. After she was rescued by boat from her home she said, "I feel good. I feel frustrated. this was a very bad day for me."
Enda has a broken back and couldn't leave her bed without assistance. Enda said, "It happened so suddenly, I just couldn't believe it. All day long I tried to go to sleep. I only slept an hour today. I just felt like the world was ending."
That's when she was saved by two good samaritans. One of them named Cody Healy was happy to help her, "I came down here with my boat. That's my boat. We knew that this area floods real bad, we knew that so we came down to help."
Then, Escambia Search and Rescue's Aaron Buck Came to help. "She wanted to stay but there was power on in the house and there water too. Gulf Power said they needed to cut the power off. So I told her that she had to go."
Cody thinks everyone should help today if they can. "I just think everybody should help people. I don't think that should be something that doesn't happen." Aaron said, "I am just glad I could help. In all honestly. that is what I've wanted to do with my life and be able to help people anyway I can so I am just glad I was able to help out."
Thanks to two good samaritans this neighborhood has a happy ending at the end of the day.
