GM facing stiff fines daily due to investigation

GM is being fined 7,000 dollars a day  because of the federal investigation into its botched ignition switch recall.

Federal officials say the automaker is late in handing over documents requested for the investigation.

A letter from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says GM was given a deadline of April 3rd to deliver the government requested paperwork involving the recall of 2.6-million vehicles.
GM released a statement saying it has handed over thousands of documents and will continue to provide more documents.
