Santa Rosa Co Commissioner Jim Williamson retring due to health concerns

SANTA ROSA COUNTY  --  Santa Rosa County Commissioner Jim Williamson is retiring due to health concerns.

First elected to the Santa Rosa County Board of Commission District 1 seat in 1996, he was re-elected without opposition in 2000.
   
Williamson was once again elected by the citizens of Santa Rosa County in 2008 and 2012 to represent District 1.
   
He was highly regarded and respected for his honesty, fiscal prudence and vision for the future of Santa Rosa County.
   
Governor Rick Scott has the authority to fill a vacancy of office until the next general election.

The person elected would then serve for the remainder of the unexpired term, in this case until 2016.
