Florida health bill promotes the use of telemedicine

The Florida House passed a health bill that would give nurse practitioners more power and promote the use of telemedicine.

Advocates stressed the bill would give patients access to more health professionals while also lowering costs.

Opponents worry that out of state Doctors could practice telemedicine without a Florida license, and that could jeopardize patient care.

The Florida Medical Association also complained that nurse practitioners should not be allowed to prescribe medication without the supervision of a Doctor.
