The internal watchdog for the Defense Department tracked the outrageous spending to the Pentagon's failure to check prices or sales data.
Intead, they relied on past experience.

The Washington Times, our investigative media partner, sized up the inspector general's findings.
Phillip Swarts, said "They are worried that the money is being wasted and they working now to try to see if they can recoup it and make the purchases as the level that they actually should be."
