ESCAMBIA COUNTY  --  A Pensacola toddler had to be treated for head injuries after being hit several times.
The child's mother told Pensacola Police that she left the 18-month-old with Corderall Silas while she went to work.

When she came back, she says the child had bruising on his face, neck and chest. She says when she confronted Silas, he left.

The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment of  non-life threatening head injuries.
Police arrested Silas this morning at Pensacola Village.
He is charged with cruelty toward a child.
