No More Escambia TAC Team

Escambia County, FL - The Escambia County Sheriff's department has dismantled its TAC Team.

In a released statement, Sheriff David Morgan says members of the TAC team have been reassigned to other areas such as Patrol and Investigations.

Here's how the Sheriffs Department's release reads:

In the Escambia County Sheriffs Offices continuing efforts to improve our process it has been determined that it is statistically not feasible to maintain the TAC team. Due to critical shortages in Patrol and Investigations, these officers will be reassigned.

TAC stands for Technical Advisory Committee Team.

In the past, the TAC Team would work in conjunction with U.S. Marshals and other agencies in operations to arrest felony suspects.

Additionally, the TAC Team was created to target high crime areas in Escambia County.
