Okaloosa Co. jail damaged from storm

Problems at the Okaloosa County Department of Corrections building.

Water from the retention pond on the property overflowed into the parking lot.

A big section of the lot washed away, causing an SUV to get stuck underneath concrete and dirt.

Today, crews tried to pull it out of the hole.
And that wasn't the only issue there.

Paul Lawson "we'll we had some roof leaks and we had some roof leaks repaired a couple of weeks ago. But, this deluge last night just overwhelmed those roof leaks, so they'll have to be done again. We're on tap to get some roofing in the next few months, so we're anxious to get that done."

The front gate to the facility was damaged.
But officers say security hasn't been affected.

Visitation was also canceled today.
