Car crashes into power pole; knocks out power

An early morning accident in Pensacola sent two people to the hospital and knocked out power to a neighborhood for hours.

Someone lost control of their vehicle, flipped and hit a Gulf Power transformer at the intersection of Ninth and Fairfax Drive about 3 am.
No word yet on what caused the crash.
The driver was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital under a Trauma Alert.
A passenger in the vehicle was also taken to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment.
About two dozen customers lost electricity.
Power was restored just after 12 pm.
