Motocross riders, wild wolves at Santa Rosa County Fair
SANTA ROSA COUNTY - The Santa Rosa County Fair kicked off this weekend in Milton with motocross riders, games, a rodeo, and even a pack of wild wolves.
Two professional motocross riders defy gravity, hitting heights of up to 45 feet as they jump across an area 65 feet wide. Their death-defying stunts have been leaving fairgoers amazed.
"I don't know how they do it," said Doug Stumpner, as hewatched the riders from the stands, "I couldn't do it so I just enjoy the show. I'll leave that to the young guys."
Elsewhere there are kids riding ponies, a clown juggling pins, food, rides and slides.
Along with the farm animals and games are some things you don't always see at fairs, including a camel and a pack of wild wolves.
"They're very agile animals as you can see," said Sharon Sandlofer, who takes care of the eastern timberwolves.
She says the animals are only about a year and a half-old.
"It's kinda like working with kindergartners here with these young ones," Sandlofer said, "You don't really train a wolf. You find things they like to do."
The fair is closed Monday and Tuesday but will be back open Wednesday through Saturday.
