Nine foot alligator captured on Dog River in Mobile

It was a shocking sight for some folks looking to enjoy a swim on Memorial Day.

This 9-ft 350 pound alligator was captured on the Dog River in Mobile yesterday (Monday).

Conservation officers put it down because they feared it had been previously fed by people.

They say it's dangerous to feed alligators, and can cost you if you're caught.

Officers say they would have preferred to relocate the animal, but after an alligator has been fed, it is more likely to approach people in the future looking for food.
