Mary Esther boil water notice

The City of Mary Esther has issued a boil-water advisory for residents in the eastern section of the city from Mary Esther Boulevard to the City limits.

The advisory was issued Thursday morning after a chlorine pump failure at Well # 4.

All water used for cooking, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes should be boiled under this notice. It is recommended to bring the water to a rolling boil for at least one minute and cool before using or to use bottled water instead.

The advisory was prompted by reduced chlorine levels (disinfection) in the affected area.

This advisory will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and the results of bacteriological testing have been obtained. Affected customers will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
