Facebook Tweaks Security Measures

Facebook is making some more privacy changes, but these recent improvements are more protective.

New users of the site will automatically have their privacy settings for a status update default to "friends" instead of "public."

Veteran users will soon be prompted to look at their privacy settings when they log in - a so-called "privacy check-up" feature.

Facebook has previously been criticized for privacy controls that could be hard to understand.

It has recently made other tweaks, including the ability to log in "anonymously" so third-party apps and websites can't collect data about you.
