Study: Diet Soda can Help you Lose Weight

A new study shows drinking diet soda can help you lose weight. 

The study published in the journal "Obesity," looked at 300 diet soda drinkers who were put on diets and split into two groups.

The people in one of the groups could keep drinking diet soda and the others had to quit.

The group that kept drinking lost an average of four additional pounds over a 12 week period.

Critics say it's because sticking to a new diet takes willpower and it's easier to do if you're not giving up something else at the same time such as soda.
