BERTHA QUICKLY HEADING WEST-NORTHWEST

Tropical Storm Bertha formed over the Atlantic Thursday night and is heading west-northwest.  It has winds of 45 miles per hour and is not forecast to become a hurricane. The storm is not forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico.

"Flood Safety" tips to remember

Some safety reminders now from the Florida's Emergency Response Team.

Remember, if you see water on the road - turn around! Don't drown. Don't' try to drive through it.

Avoid any standing water.
Lookout for downed power lines. 
If you don't have power, use flashlights, not candles.
   
Prevent food borne illnesses by making sure you don't eat food that's been spoiled because of power outages or flood waters.
   
Also look our for your pets. Make sure they have identification on them during times of disaster.
