Surprise homecoming for Memorial Day

As we honor service men and women this weekend.
What about a surprise homecoming, a local Soldier put on for his family.

That's what happened for a girl in Gulf Breeze this afternoon, on her 10th birthday no less.

Army Staff Sergeant, Wesley Henderson surprised his daughter, Destin, after returning home from Afghanistan.
She was having a pool party with a few of her friends when her dad walked through the door with a cake.

She was so surprised she stood in shock for a few moments before she unleashed tears of joy.

"She spent the last month, telling me how much she wishes i could be here for her birthday and every time I ask her what she wants for her birthday she says i just want you to be here.  It was really hard to keep a secret actually, but it was very special."

Henderson will be home on leave for about a month.
During that time, Destin says she'd like to spend time with her dad by watching movies, bowling and going to the beach.
