Concerns over water quality since April flood

Escambia County (WEAR) - Ever since last month's flood, we've heard concerns about cleanliness of the water many of us swim in.

The Escambia County Health Department has released a new report on the conditions of the counties' popular swimming areas.

It shows the waters are now in good condition, but some people aren't convinced.

Velina Malinowski lives in Gulf Breeze and hasn't been in the water since the storm.

She says it's the mystery of what's in the water that's kept her out of it.

Even though the county report says the bacteria level is low, they recommend you talk to your doctor before getting into the water if you have an open wound or any other concerns.

Pensacola resident, Genna Barlow brought her kids to Quiet Water and says she feels it's safe to let them play in the water.
