TROPICAL DEPRESSION 2

Tropical Depression 2 is in the western Atlantic Ocean and moving west. The system is headed to the Caribbean Sea. TD 2 is not forecast to become much stronger and could become non-tropical by Thursday.

Free sandbags available today

Sand and sand bags will be given out today along the gulf coast.

In Santa Rosa County you can get empty sandbags at the Midway Fire District until 7 pm.
The Santa Rosa Public Works will also be handing them out until 4 pm.
There is a limit of 25 bags per vehicle

If you need sand to fill those bags you can head over to Tiger Pointe in Gulf Breeze, or the intersection of Citrus Drive and Leisure Street in Holley by the Sea, or the intersection of Pine Forest Road and Carrol Road.

If you only want to make one stop, sand and sandbags will be available at Holley-Navarre Fire District. and Pace Fire Rescue District until 6 pm.
There is also a 25 bag limit.
People are asked to bring their own shovels and to be ready to fill bags.


In Escambia County you can get filled sandbags at the Road Prison on Highway 297-A in Cantonment until 5 pm.
There is a limit of 10 bags per vehicle.

In Okaloosa County sand bags will be available at city of Fort Walton Beach Fire Station 6 on Hollywood Boulevard. And also Station 7 on Lewis Turner Boulevard.

Sandbags will also be available at Public Works North on Ferndon Boulevard in Crestview until 4:30 this afternoon.
    
You can get sand at the city's Facilities Maintenance Office on Hollywood Boulevard.
