Beach businesses preparing for Red, White, and Blues week

Expect a big influx of traffic heading to Pensacola Beach in the next couple weeks.
The 4th of July weekend and Red, White, and Blues week are back to back.

The air show is generating even more excitement than usual, because of last year's cancellations.
Some beach businesses are getting ready for the crowds.

You may no thave to battle crowes today at the beach but that's all gonna change come Red, White, and Blues week.
From July 4th through the 12th, there will be lots of company.

"For the 4th, it's the first time in advance, I think we've been sold out two weeks ago," said Fred Simmons, owner of the Paradise Inn.

Buck Lee with the Santa Rosa Island Authority tells us nearly every beach hotel and vacation condo is completely booked, some since six months ago. Part of the demand is from the Blues being grounded last year due to federal budget cuts.

"We really missed the Angels though so I think everyone is really excited to have them back," said Monica Parries, manager of Surf Burger.

The week kicks off with fireworks over Santa Rosa sound on the 4th of July and ends with the Blue Angels' air show on the 11th and 12th, with lots of festivities in-between.

"Out here on the beach it's gonna be really busy. We enjoy having the locals come in. We enjoy having the tourists come in," said Parries.

It isn't just beach businesses gearing up for an influx, several hotels in Pensacola who are sold out for the 4th and filing up quickly for the following week.
