New rules approved to stop breading of Lionfish in the Gulf

New rules have been approved to help fight the proliferation of Lionfish in the Gulf of Mexico.
The fish is popular for aquariums and once someone dumped a few in the Gulf, they started spreading.

The changes passed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife conservation commission will take effect August 1st.
They ban the importation of live Lionfish into the state.

Allow divers to use rebreathers while harvesting Lionfish.
And allow Lionfish tournaments to be permitted, where spearfishing is normally not allowed.
