Okaloosa County celebrates opening of Veteran's Park and Bayview Plaza

Okaloosa County and tourism leaders are unveiling the new Bayview Plaza today, and the beginning of a Veterans Park.
Here at the Emerald Coast Convention Center where county tourism officials are set to open and introduce two new features.
The first is this large concrete pad. They're calling it the Bayview Center, and its about 30,000 of space.
Now there's a few features that county tourism officials are hoping will attract more groups and conferences - first, the whole thing is powered and has running water so its self-contained.
The other you see over my head: Its this giant tent meaning that outdoor activities can still be held if its raining.

Now the other celebration today is the official opening of the Okaloosa County Veteran's Park.
It's a 14 acre park that, when fully completed, will have a ton of features.
But Phase One is one, which includes a nature walk around the pond, and beside Choctawhatchee Bay, and a Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary.
Tonight is the grand opening of that Veteran's Park and combined with the Bayview Center officials are hoping it'll be just one more reason folks will want to bring bigger events to the Convention Center and to Okaloosa County.
