BERTHA QUICKLY HEADING WEST-NORTHWEST

Tropical Storm Bertha formed over the Atlantic Thursday night and is heading west-northwest.  It has winds of 45 miles per hour and is not forecast to become a hurricane. The storm is not forecast to move into the Gulf of Mexico.

Senate approves job bill, moves on for House vote

In an overwhelming vote, the Senate approves a jobs bill.
 
The approval calls for a rewrite of federal workforce training programs to improve job skills and drop the unemployment rate.
The bipartisan approval sends the bill to the House, where Senators say it is expected to pass.
