YOUR THREE CENTS: Do you think religion can answer all or most of today's problems?
Over the past 40 years, there has been a gradual shift in Americans' views of the relevance of religion in answering today's problems.
And there's a growing belief that religion is old fashioned and out of date.
Thats according to a new poll released by Gallup.
Fifty-seven percent of Americans say that religion can answer all or most of today's problems.
In 1957, that number was at 82-percent.
But that number began dropping in the 70's, when an average of 62% believed religion was a problem solver.
It remained at that level in the 1980s and 1990s and then began declining slowly.
30% now say that religion is largely old fashioned and out of date.
