Red Snapper season opens, Amberjack and Triggerfish closes

Amberjack and Gray Triggerfish seasons reopen in state waters August first.

There's no time to waste now the federal red snapper season has officially begun.

The season is only nine days long, it was originally supposed to be 40 but has continually been shortened.
You only have until June 10th to fish in federal waters.
Right now, you can also fish in Florida state waters.
Those waters will be open until July 14th.
But you won't be able to fish for Amberjack and gray Triggerfish in Florida waters in the gulf.
That season is closed until later this summer.
The commission says the closures help conserve Florida's fish populations and improve the fishery for the future.
