Red Snapper season ends tomorrow

Tomorrow is the last full day for Red Snapper season in federal waters.

The season ends at midnight on June 10th. The federal season was shortened to nine days this year. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the season is shorter to make sure the number of fish brought in doesn't exceed the quota established in their plan.

The Red Snapper bag limit is two fish with a 16-inch minimum total length size limit.

However, Snapper season for state waters will continue to be open until July 14th. State waters are from the shore to nine nautical miles. Federal waters start where state waters end-- out to about 200 nautical miles.
