American fans find Brazil 'overwhelmingly receptive' at World Cup

Team USA will play Portugal in their second match in the World Cup today.

American fans are still flying high after the team won against Ghana 2-1, while Portuguese fans are hoping for redemption after losing to Germany.

A group of recent Cornell grads traveled to Brazil for the event, and they've found the country to be overwhelmingly receptive.

One of graduates says, "we walk around with these [touches a star spangled bandana], and everyone wants to take a picture with us. We've probably had a hundred people take pictures. We're kind of like celebrities when we wear our American stuff".

At night, fans from around the globe get together in the Historic Center to watch the World Cup play out on the big screen.

They've set up screens at strategic points across the city. This one's in the heart of the Historic Center. It's right in the shadow of the opera house, where people come together to watch the games.
