NASA astronaut speaks to kids in Pensacola

Today, some local children got to meet and talk with a former NASA astronaut who's been in space four times.

Doctor Tom Jones swung by Kids Unlimited, a camp for underprivileged children in Pensacola. He spoke to them about what he's experienced in his career field and hoping he can inspire some of them to follow in his footsteps.

'We are looking for some very smart scientists and engineers of the future, inventors, innovators, and entrepreneurs, people are going to make space a place for us in the future. Who are going to make humans a multi-planet species.  I think it's that kind of imagination and talent in this new generation that's going to carry us far."

Doctor Jones is now working as a senior research scientist at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition.
