Milton Police chief requests new handguns for officers

The Milton police chief is asking the city council to approve the purchase of new handguns.

Chief Greg Brand says most of the guns that officers are using right now are at least fifteen years old.
The newer model also offers improved accuracy and safety.
The chief says the old models can be traded in keeping the cost of upgrading all full-time officers under three-thousand dollars.
The city council is voting on the request at its meeting today.
