HEALTHWATCH: Binge drinking death report
Alcohol in moderation is linked to longevity and better health, but drinking excessively, puts your life is at stake.
And we' re not talking just a hangover headache or even the horrors of alcoholism.
New findings from the CDC shows that between 2006 and 2010 nearly 88,000 working age adults died before their time from drinking too much alcohol.
More than half of these deaths are linked to binge drinking.
For men, the news is even more sobering. Males accounted for about 70 percent of these deaths.
Drinking in moderation means one drink per day for women and no more than two drinks per day for men.
If you find that you can't consistently stay below these limits, you need to look for help from a professional, even if you don't think you're an alcoholic. It may well save your life.
