Robert McDonald nominated for Secretary of VA

President Obama picked a new leader for the troubled Department of Veterans affairs

Today Obama announced he is nominating Robert McDonald as his new secretary of the VA.
The 61-year-old graduated from Westpoint, and spent five years in the Army.
He's also a former Proctor and Gable    
He  would succeed Eric Shinseki who resigned from the struggling agency last month after reports of delayed care for *thousands* of veterans.

 Robert McDonald is already receiving praise from both political parties.   But before taking the new post he must first be confirmed by the senate.
