"Move Over" for FHP I-10 Challenge

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an intensified enforcement effort on Interstate 10 through June 29.

All seven counties that line Interstate 10 will be participating in the "I-10 Challenge." The focus is Florida's move over law: If you see anyone on the side of the road, you are required to move over or slow down for their safety.

During the three day period, the Florida Highway Patrol will watch for drivers failing to comply with the move over law.

In addition, troopers will be checking for distracted driving, aggressive drivers, speeders, seat belt use, and commercial vehicle safety.
