Prescription drug deaths down in Florida

Prescription drug deaths in Florida are down for the first time since the epidemic of prescription drug abuse started over ten years ago.
The drug overdose death rate from 2010 to 2012 fell by 23% according to the centers for disease control.

Once among the worst in the country, the state started placing harsher regulations on pain clinics and strengthening laws concerning prescription drugs.
A few states have reported some spotty declines in drug deaths, but none as sustained or deep as Florida's.
