Gulf Coast Kids House a growing resource for abused kids

A valuable resource for abused children and their caregivers is growing.

Gulf Coast Kids House opened its doors in 2004 and it's grown so much since then.
It provides a safe haven for children and a place where they can tell their stories just one time to everyone who's trying to help them.

Today, staff and supporters broke ground for a 3,000 square foot expansion.

"We're looking to expand the building so that we can have a better medical exam room, better therapy rooms, more privacy for kids and their families as they're telling their unfortunate stories," said Debbie Ritchie.

Gulf Coast Kids House is not just a better place for children moving through the system.
It helps the agencies that are working on their case and more often results in the conviction of the abusers.
