Georgia toddler's father charged with murder and child cruelty

New details in the case of the Georgia toddler who died after being left in a car by his father have been released.

Ross Harris is being charged with murder and second degree child cruelty after leaving his son in his hot SUV for seven hours.

Ross claims he forgot to take his son to daycare on his way to work, and didn't realize until he was driving home from work later that day.

Police reports say Harris returned to the SUV during lunch that day to place something inside.

He then shut the door, and walked away from the vehicle.
The reports also reveals that both parents had researched deaths of children by heat stroke prior to their son's death.

The mother has not been charged in the incident, and is supporting her husband saying it was a terrible accident.
