Atmore YMCA closing

The Atmore YMCA will close it's doors one last time at the end of August.

The Y's Chief Executive officer Paul Chason tells Channel Three News that they don't have the money to keep going.
The "Y" runs on membership revenue.

Chason says it cost 50,000 a year to stay in the building they have and even with around 500 members they just cant stay open.

In recent years the YMCA was able to stay open through support from area businesses
But the help has finally ran out.

Which has some wondering what they are going to do?
"Where are our seniors going to go, we have a controlled environment that they can come and socialize in,...What they going to do...Walk the streets...Not another place in town to go to do this."

Operations at the Atmore YMCA will be reduced as they get closer to the closing date.
