Search continues for missing boater
Search crews spent most of the day looking for a man who fell off a boat in Pensacola Bay overnight.
56 year old, Louie Baca is believed to have fallen into the water around 1:30 this morning.
Aaron Harrison was driving the boat with his dad, brother, and best friend Louie Baca on board.
About 15 minutes after launching from the 17th Avenue boat ramp, Harrison noticed Baca was missing.
"We started yelling and we back tracked a little bit, and I finally found the phone on the boat and called 911," said Harrison.
Harrison says Baca couldn't swim and wasn't wearing a life vest.
"I shouldn've made sure he had it on, I really should have. That's my responsibility for driving the boat."
Search and rescue teams from a number of agencies starting searching the water along the east side of the 3 mile bride looking for Baca.
The search efforts continued throughout the night and morning.
"There is a lot of debris next to the bridge, and we've got to look through that real carefully and it's a big search area because we don't know exactly where he fell over," said John Provo, with Escambia Search & Rescue.
Sonar equipment is being used to hopefully find clues to Baca's whereabouts.
"We can pick up 3d images on either direction up to several hundred feet"
The search efforts are expected to stop as more boaters hit the water for the fireworks show.
But Saturday morning search efforts are expected to resume.
Baca's friends and family are still holding out hope he's found safe.
"Ya'll find my boy, please"
