Update: Shooting at American Legion was at a teen dance

We have an update on a shooting that happened outside the American Legion on Sunday.

Pensacola police are now saying it happened at a teen dance. They are still trying to find out who organized the dance. Police say the shooting happened around 1:30 outside the American Legion Post 33. That's off of Intendencia Street in Pensacola.

Officers say around 300 people at the dance when a large fight broke out.  During the fight, a 16-year-old was shot in his upper body. Police also found a 15-year-old who was beaten up unconscious in the parking lot.

Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment and have since been released. If you have any information on this or have heard any teens talking about what happened, you are asked to call the Escambia County Crime Stoppers.
