Secretary of State meets with presidents of other countries on immigration
Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting with the presidents of Panama, El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala to discuss what they can do jointly about unaccompanied minors crossing the U.S. Border.
On both sides of the border, the situation is being called a crisis.
More than 52,000 unaccompanied children have been caught crossing the border since October.
It is a huge surge of immigrants flooding U.S. facilities that are now at capacity.
President Obama announced plans to bypass congress and use Executive Power to start fixing our immigration system.
"I'm beginning an effort to fix as much of our immigration system as I can on my own."
"The only thing I can't do is stand by and do nothing while waiting for them to get their act together."
The president's first Executive Action will be a surge of federal agents to the southern border.
He's also asked the Attorney General and the Homeland Security Secretary for a list of recommended actions he could take which he hopes to implement by the end of summer.
According to the latest ABC News-Washington Post poll nearly 6 - 10 Americans support a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
