Engine started F-35 fire at Eglin

The engine of the F-35 joint strike fighter jet was the cause of the fire onboard the F-35 Model A at Eglin Air Force Base on June 23rd. That's according to the U.S. Naval Institute News.

The fire started in the rear of the jet where the engine is located. It was initially thought the cause was related to the jet's integrated power pack, which acts as a starter for the engine. Now--- USNI news sources say  investigators are focusing on the after-burning turbofan.

The Pentagon has grounded the fleet of F-35's while the investigation continues
