UPDATE: CVS Pharmacy in Milton robbed at gunpoint

Milton police are working to find two people who robbed the CVS pharmacy in Milton overnight.

Milton Police Officers responded to a call of an armed robbery at 2 a.m.

Most of the ordeal was captured on surveillance video.

In the video, two men in masks, carrying hand guns walked into the store.

They demanded the pharmacist open the cash register.

After taking handfuls of  cash they cleaned out the narcotics locker, which includes drugs like morphine and Oxycontin.

The suspects then bound the pharmacist and two other employees and left the store.

Milton Police say there's a good chance these drugs were stolen to be resold on the streets.

Captain David Cox says they are looking into the likelihood that this robbery is connected to a very similar incident that happened at a Pensacola CVS a couple of weeks ago.

That robbery happened at the CVS on 9th Avenue in which two masked men pulled a gun on the clerk and stole narcotics and money.

Robert Holland, who has lived in Milton for 65 years says he was surprised to hear what happened but it doesn't change how he feels about his hometown.

"I feel just as safe as I always did. It's just one of those things where you don't even know where these folks are from. They could have just been passing through," said Holland.

Captain Cox recommends people to be alert and pay attention to their surroundings.

"Just to be vigilant. They could have been in the store the same time these guys came in and been victims themselves," said Cox.

Right now, the surveillance video is the best thing that police have to go on. If you have any information about this crime, you're asked to call Milton Police.
